With money being tight and having a week off over the Easter break handsome husband and I were looking for a good deal to get away for the night. We came across a champagne afternoon tea at the Ramada in Guilford on Group On.
We arrived at 13.30 on the Sunday and once checked in were served our afternoon tea. The glass of champagne was lovely and smooth and shortly followed by the food and tea. We had a very generous pot of tea, enough for three cups each! The sandwiches were on white and brown bread and made up with cheese and tomato, smoked salmon and egg mayonnaise. These were very nice and we had plenty for two people. The scones were fine and came with cream and jam. The cake was not as nice but that's really because neither of us are big fans of fruit cake. The staff were very friendly and we had a lovely stay, breakfast was really good. The cooked breakfast was one of the best i've had in this type of hotel because it was cooked to order and so fresh.

Afternoon Tea - Bath June 2010
I was whisked away to Bath in what was a lovely summer at the time in June 2010. Little did I know that handsome husband was planning to propose on the beautiful Palladian Bridge in the grounds of the National Trust Park. We had this afternoon tea at The Royal Hotel where we were staying before the said proposal and enjoyed it very much as the smiles will show.
Afternoon Tea at Shendish Manor - April 2011
I was treated to afternoon tea and our wedding venue last April for my 30th birthday by handsome husband to be. It was a glorious sunny day. It just so happens after we had finished that the bar tender asked us to sample some cocktails for them with the new apple and blackberry vodka, it certainly gave the afternoon a nice finish.
Afternoon Tea on The Queen Victoria
Handsome husband and I experienced this afternoon tea on our honeymoon whilst sailing with Cunard on the Queen Victoria, it was one of the many highlights.
As afternoon tea's go this has to be one of the best. We sat down at our reserved table at 15:30 and were offered a glass of Rose Veuve Clicquot Champagne. This went down very well and I could have easily gone for another, however shortly after we given a gorgeous mousse and a fresh strawberry tart which looked mouthwatering and tasted fantastic. We were then presented with the range of Twinnings Rituals Teas. We went for the Jasmine tea and watched the egg timer eagerly for it to brew accordingly which was explained thoroughly to us by our waiter. Next came the food platter with a selection of three sandwiches each filled with seafood, beef and cream cheese and salmon - what isn't pictured is the fact that these sandwiches were topped up continually, well until we said no more anyway! These were accompanied by delicious warm scones, plain and cinnamon which we coated with Jam and Cream or if handsome husband was writing this Cream and Jam - an ongoing debate. The delicate pastries that came next we couldn't actually finish as you can imagine!
If you get the chance to do this one it's afternoon tea at its finest.
